co-mrkt

A pop-up market community amplifying emerging AAPI creators.

After attending a candlelight vigil in LA’s Chinatown in remembrance of all victims, I thought about how I could contribute. In this time of fear and sadness, what could I do to activate joy?

In my love for building community, event organizing, supporting small businesses, and amplifying AAPI creatives, co-mrkt was born.

co-mrkt’s mission is to amplify, uplift, and unite AAPI creators so that they have a chance to thrive by creating space, promoting integration and increasing visibility.

Through our events and activations, co-mrkt puts emerging, local Asian American and Pacific Islander entrepreneurs and small businesses at the forefront. We create space where the AAPI community can feel seen, heard and empowered to live authentically without fear.

co-mrkt is Community + Collaboration + Connection.

3rd Annual Kibo Nobori Children's Day 2024

Our 3rd annual Kibō Nobori Children’s Day Arts & Culture Festival was a joyful celebration of youthful spirit, hope, and imagination, as well as AAPI Heritage. We were so excited at the amount of people who came to see our Japanese and AAPI community’s art, activities, cultural performances, and a co-mrkt marketplace full of unique, small businesses.

Kibō Nobori きぼう のぼり translates as “hope flags,” and the mission is to spread hope within the community. This event is a collaboration between artist and founder Faith-Ann Kiwa Young, Terasaki Budokan—a nonprofit multipurpose sports and activities center, and co-mrkt—an inclusive community amplifying emerging AAPI creators in Los Angeles through events, collaborations, and activations. A special thank you to everyone who helped us spread so much hope + joy this year!

2nd Annual Honor Your Feelings Fest 2024

Taking place during the month of May as a celebration of both AAPI Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness month, this free & all-ages community festival will feature panel discussions, movement workshops, live music, a community marketplace, interactive art activations, and more in the heart of Koreatown, LA.

Gain wisdom, breathe into your body, and remember the joy of finding your community. Come, honor your feelings with us.
